THE Game: Michigan Wrap-Up
Fellow Buckeyes,
Well, now. That. Was. Delicious.
Some more informed opinions. Ok, I'll admit it: just like any properly crazed fan should, I live and die with our beloved Buckeyes. Thus, I'm still not really able to focus well enough to put together my usually (more or less) comprehensive review of what people are saying. Sure, I'll give you a link to some goodness from Eleven Warriors, Along the Olentangy (also, What They're Saying), and Doc Saturday, but I think most of you are probably more than familiar with Saturday's events.
My take. Ok, I gotta get this out: I don't know what the deal is this year, but am I the only one who has noticed a significant amount of sub-par refereeing this year? Unsportsmanlike? Seriously? I mean, DANG. And the personal fouls I saw called were on "fighting" that was, frankly, seriously weak compared with some of the stuff that has gone on in Games past. Let's be real: these are young men playing in one of the most emotional games of their lives; let 'em scrap a bit, huh?
That aside, this game was about what I expected from our guys (one helping of Pryor, one helping of Boom, and a double helping of Defense), and less of what I expected from Michigan (after a dangerous-looking first couple drives from Robinson, he just didn't make me that nervous--again, thanks to the D).
But all that is secondary to one fact, of which I am sure you are all aware, but bears repeating, and repeating, and repeating: from 2001 through 2010, OSU is 9-1 against Michigan. I know you've heard that a lot lately, but just let it sink in. The previous decade, we were 2-7-1. On a related note, my new favorite joke, courtesy The Buckeye Battle Cry:
Knock Knock
Who’s there?
Owen
Owen who?
Owen Seven.
Also interesting. Let's not kid ourselves: we're Ohio State fans, so nothing else of note happened this weekend.
Up next: Um, Arkansas?
See you before we go bowling!
